Q&A

What was your path to becoming a mental health professional?

I knew I wanted to be a mental health professional when I was in high school psychology class learning about the brain. I then decided in undergrad to find a job in the field and started working at Minnesota Mental Health Clinics part time at the front desk and have worked many positions at this company. I graduated in 2020 with my bachelor's and decided to take three years off before going back to school for my MSW. Now here I am, still at the same company in another new position!

What should clients expect when working with you?

I've been told that I have a calming energy and I like to tailor my work with clients based on what the client needs. I'll give you homework and tools to try out if that's what you want, or I'll be a listening ear for you!

If you could be doing anything else, what would it be?

If I could be doing anything else, I would be working in theatre journalism.
